According to the Flax Council of Canada,  ground flax seed has many benefits to offer in the prevention of illness. The seed must be crushed to be utilized. Ground up flax seed is called flaxmeal. It can be added to any cereal, put in yoghurt, added to protein drinks or baked into muffins.  When flax and soy are combined their synergestic effects help in detoxifying estrogen.  Flax offers these benefits:

  • cholesterol lowering, heart protective
  • has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects
  • omega 3 fatty acids in flax are immune enhancing
